Why is there no sound from Optical?

Set the TV digital audio format to PCM or Stereo. Dolby, DTS, Auto, and Bitstream are not supported for Optical input.

It depends on the TV. Some TVs support simultaneous speaker and Optical/AUX output; others may require a splitter or HDMI audio extractor.
